Inspection Hatch
by
The brief
SWP were asked to replace a worn inspection hatch door and install the new one on top of a silo.
The job
Galvanised steel was selected for this job because of its resistance to corrosion. The first stage was to cut the various sizes of steel to size furthermore all of the ancillary parts were produced like the door hinge. A lip was bend around the edges of the door and hatch. To produce a rounded edge on the door, the steel was cut a certain way to allow a strip to be bent around. Once in place it was welded together. These welds and ancillary parts were then painted with Zinga galvanising system (available from our shop). All of the ancillary parts were added to the door and it was finally ready for installation by our engineers.
