Smoking Shelter
by
The brief
SWP was asked to design and fabricate a smoking shelter. This was for a large local company who’s staff needed somewhere covered to smoke during breaks.
The job
The shelter was designed in house on our CAD software. The materials were then ordered, this included mild steel box, nuts, bolts, and perspex sheets. A drawing was printed and handed to the workshop staff. The staff cut the steel to size, and drilled all the necessary holes for fixings. Once cut and drilled the steel was sent off to be galvanized, this ensured the steel would be protected from the elements and prolong the life of the shelter. When the steel returned the next task was to assemble the frame and attach the perspex sheet. Once complete the structure was quality checked and loaded on to a flat bed wagon to be delivered to the customer. Our staff then installed the shelter on site.
