House Extension Steel Work
by
The brief
SWP was asked to cut, weld and fabricate structural steel to make columns and beams for a local building company.
The job
Our staff set to work measuring and cutting mild steel box section, also the universal beams followed the same process. A base plate and cap was welded onto each column while a cleat was added to be able to bolt the beam to the column. Holes were drilled through the cleats and the universal beam. It was important at this stage to ensure the sets of holes lined up. The steel work was primed with a protective grey paint. Finally the steel was delivered to the customer.
